Based on Nissan’s e-NV200 electric van, it comes with a soft-serve machine, freezer drawer and drinks fridge.

Ice cream is served from a side-hatch.

Payment is by contactless bank card and smartphone via a ‘tap-and-pay’ panel mounted on the side.

The van has a top speed of 76mph, a range of up to 124 miles between charges, courtesy of the 40kWh battery,

The van’s equipment is powered by Nissan’s Energy ROAM – a portable power pack that uses re-cycled lithium-ion EV batteries.

The power packs can then be recharged from solar panels on the van’s roof.

A backwards step is a facility which tweets the van’s location – – a poor substitute for the traditional jingle.
